Genre

            In the rhetorical situation genre is not explicitly stated, it is a convention that is followed depending on the document being written. Each document will have certain elements must be followed and an effective document will have its corresponding elements.

One of the documents that had a very precise convention is the lab report. Having previous writing lab reports, I was familiar with its necessary components. In figure 1, it demonstrates the table of contents for my lab report. For this document, the following components are important and in the absence of any of these components reduced the effectiveness and reliability.
