Course Learning Outcome 1

“Acknowledge your and other’s range of linguistic differences as resources, and draw on those resources to develop rhetorical sensibility.”

Course learning outcome 1 is closely tied with the rhetorical situation. After the purpose has been determined, one of the most important aspects of the rhetorical situation to consider is the audience. As engineers our technical documents may not always been directed to those in the same field. Part of the process of writing these documents is thinking about the all of the individuals that the document may be directed to. For the Technical Description the audience varied from those who would receive this as a treatment as well as medical staff who use this on a daily basis. This is something I had not considered to in-depth and had mostly directed it to individuals who would receive this as a treatment.
